University of Denver School of Engineering & Computer Science
The primary purpose of this project is to provide a collaborative foundation for the many science disciplines currently housed in separate buildings. The project focuses on research that addresses aging and aging-related conditions through biomedical and social sciences research and discovery.
The building’s open and flexible design will allow the facility to grow as the University expands and builds STEM programs. The building provides classroom and research spaces, administrative offices, and dining facilities. According to DU, “The expansion means the University will be able to grow its engineering and computer science student and faculty capacity by 30 percent.”
The project team incorporated Group14 proposed solutions including the decoupling of internal loads from outside air, Konvekta high-performance energy recovery system, and extensive networked LED lighting system.
