Colorado Bureau of Investigation Pueblo Laboratory
The $18 million CBI forensics laboratory for the Colorado Bureau of Investigation was on an accelerated building schedule. Despite an extremely tight timeline, the team was able to incorporate every LEED credit strategy available to them. The facility will serve the region from Colorado Springs south to the New Mexico state line, and from Kansas to Utah. It will provide intensive forensic analysis for area law enforcement agencies, including DNA, fingerprints, chemistry, and toxicology.
Group14 not only commissioned the HVAC, lighting and domestic hot water systems, but also commissioned the low-voltage systems (security, access controls, IT and addressable fire alarm) and the power distribution system. Due to the success of this project, Group14 was recently contracted to commission CBI’s new Arvada laboratory and office that is not pursuing LEED certification.
