Commissioning Engineer / Project Manager

Group14 Engineering is an engineering consulting firm specializing in the built environment. Our services include building commissioning, energy audits, energy modeling, and consulting on LEED/ sustainability. Our Commissioning Team works mostly in Colorado and adjacent states. Our exciting and challenging projects include laboratories, higher education and K-12, health care, office, and recreation facilities among many others. We are hiring a self-motivated and creative Commissioning Engineer / Project Manager with excellent technical and written & verbal communication skills. We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to energy efficiency, customer service and a responsible work ethic.

Qualifications

      • Undergraduate degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited program.
      • 5+ years of experience with commercial buildings, preferably experience in commissioning, design engineering, MEP Coordination, and/or mechanical contracting.
      • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC, Plumbing, and building control systems.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, especially spreadsheet and word processing tools.
      • Ability to travel outside the Denver metro area (overnight to conduct work) up to 20% of the time.
      • Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks, excellent organization, and time management skills.
      • Additional skills that are a plus include Bluebeam, cloud-based commissioning software, knowledge of electrical and life safety systems, and programming skills in VBA, or other relevant languages and tools.
      • Commissioning certifications are also a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Provide hands-on field level support of construction and functional testing phases of new building commissioning projects.
      • Review design and construction documents (plans, specifications, and contractor submittals) as they are developed to ensure systems can be properly field tested and maintained.
      • Perform onsite testing of building systems including but not limited to MEP, Life-Safety, and Specialty Building Systems.
      • Coordinate integration of SkySpark software with building automation systems.
      • Analyze building energy performance data and provide guidance on the design and specification of energy sub-metering design.
      • Conduct field observation surveys and prepare field reports on the status of equipment and installations with respect to compliance with drawings, specifications, and Owner Project Requirements.
      • Develop and execute commissioning and retro-commissioning process deliverables, including but not limited to, commissioning plans, specifications, test procedures, reports, calculations and manuals.
      • Observe and document equipment startups, test and balance activities, and functional performance tests.
      • Depending on experience and strengths, the opportunity to manage the execution of new building commissioning projects including the execution of deliverables, oversight of project financials, and coordination with sub-consultants and other Group14 Cx team members. It is our intent to hire a skilled commissioning engineer that will either fill a Commissioning Project Manager position immediately or can develop the necessary skills to fill that role at a later date.

BD / Marketing Manager

We are looking for an individual with a strong commitment to sustainability, their co-workers, clients and a responsible work ethic. The role of BD/Marketing Manager is open to experienced professionals with the following qualifications and willing and prepared to take on the key responsibilities listed below.

Qualifications

      • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing or related field. Experience will be considered.
      • 8+ years of experience with business development and marketing in commercial buildings, preferably in Colorado, as well as experience managing staff. Experience in AEC and energy efficiency industries is preferred.
      • Excellent communication skills.
      • Ability to think creatively and strategically.
      • Budget-management skills and proficiency.
      • Analytical skills to forecast and identify trends and challenges.
      • Understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels.
      • Technical proposal writing and management experience.
      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation tools.
      • Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks, excellent organization, and time management skills.
      • Excellent editing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

      • Build new and support existing rapport with customers to increase renewals, referrals, and cross-sell and upsell opportunities with assistance of service area team leaders
      • Conduct weekly targeted research to assist with lead development
      • Represent the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates
      • Manage the proposal process, including the coordination and collection of project specific information and developing proposal content and other requirements to meet established guidelines and target dates
      • Assist with organization of sales activities for firm Principals and other Associates, such as lunch and learns and networking events
      • Develop and manage marketing budget and marketing plan
      • Maintain CRM database including opportunities, project information, employees, clients, and contacts along with mailing and special events information
      • Manage collateral materials development, public relations and advertising programs, corporate identity development and implementation, constant contact campaigns, and market research
      • Maintain involvement in professional and community organizations
      • Manage the planning and coordination of special events such as trade shows and conferences
      • Assist with developing abstracts for speaking engagements
      • Manage the updating and monitoring of social media and website information
      • Oversee production of written promotional materials including project lists, data sheets, resumes and market-sector brochures
      • Review sales and marketing timesheets and expenditures
