Assuring Building Performance through Commissioning

Commissioning (Cx) is a quality control process for the design, construction, and operation of energy-using systems in new or renovated buildings.  The commissioning agent (CxA) is the Owner’s representative and is both an integral – and independent - part of the design and construction teams. When done correctly, commissioning saves the building operator considerable cost and comfort complaints caused by equipment that would otherwise operate incorrectly.

Group14 Engineering structures our Cx services around the LEED credits for Fundamental and Enhanced Cx, but will tailor the effort to the needs and budget of the Owner. Our commissioning team is headed up by Dennis Jones, PE, CEM, CxA, with support from other engineers on staff.
